Theatre Under The Stars<\/strong>\u00a0is excited to introduce the cast of Disney\u2019s Newsies<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am ecstatic to finally bring Newsies to the TUTS audience!\u201d said Dan Knechtges<\/strong>, TUTS Artistic Director. \u201cThis musical is electrifying, and this production is absolutely going to be worth the wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leading the cast are Pierre Marais<\/strong> as \u201cJack Kelly,\u201d Calien Fu<\/strong> as \u201cKatherine Plumber,\u201d Ben Diamond<\/strong> as \u201cDavey,\u201d Christina Wells<\/strong> as \u201cMedda Larkin,\u201d Graham Rowat<\/strong> as \u201cPulitzer,\u201d and Luis-Pablo Garcia<\/strong> as \u201cCrutchie,\u201d The featured newsies of the cast are: Alex Aponte, Armani Brown, Ben Chavez, Sebastian Martinez, Cameron Sirian, Chris Tipps<\/strong> and Cole Zieser. Daniel Karash and Everett Baumgarten<\/strong> will share the role of \u201cLes.\u201d Supporting cast includes Bret Shuford<\/strong> as \u201cSnyder,\u201d Michael Alonzo<\/strong> as \u201cOscar Delancey,\u201d and Hunter Burke as \u201cMorris Delancey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining them in the ensemble are: Madeleine Bourgeois, Chase Fontenot, Trey Harrington, Mark Ivy, Miles Marmolejo, Chris Scurlock, Braden Tanner<\/strong> and Holland Vavra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Teen Ensemble includes: Gavin Cabote, Carlos Garza, Haley Griffin, Nicole Hiemstra, Riley Korfhage, Dylan Loria, Gracie McDaniel, Samuel Morales, Riley Neal, Kaavya Rajarathnam, Yona Reeves,<\/strong> and Emma Robinson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Newsies<\/strong> <\/em>is directed by Ryan Scarlata<\/strong> and music directed by Stephen W. Jones<\/strong>, with choreography and musical staging by William Carlos Angulo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Joining Scarlata\u2019s team on the production: Costume Designer, Colleen Grady<\/strong>, Lighting Designer, Jonathan Spencer<\/strong>; Sound Designer, Andrew Harper<\/strong>; Co-Projection Designers, Greg Emetaz and Kylee Loera<\/strong>; Hair & Makeup Designer, Kelley Jordan<\/strong>; Assistant Director, Betty Marie Muessig<\/strong>, andProduction Stage Manager, Morgan Holbrook<\/strong>. Casting for Newsies<\/strong> <\/em>is provided by Calleri Jensen Davis Casting<\/strong> and by TUTS Artistic Line Producer, Laura Peete<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They delivered the papers, and then they made the headlines\u2026 Newsies<\/strong><\/em>, the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing, Tony Award\u00ae-winning musical in a brand-new production by Theatre Under The Stars. Newsies is an extraordinary story, inspired by actual events. When a band of underdogs became unlikely heroes and stood up to the most powerful men in New York, it shook the world. It\u2019s an energetic tale about fighting for what\u2019s right and staying true to who you are.<\/p>\n

Newsies<\/strong> <\/em>runs May 21 through June 2<\/strong> at the Theatre Under The Stars.
